Meet Chris Canter: a fervent champion for public education, determined to shape a brighter tomorrow for our students, educators, and community.

With extensive experience as an educator, parent, and unwavering child advocate, Chris fights tirelessly ​for all Broward County children and families, advocating for equitable access to public education for ​all. His advocacy efforts are far-reaching through his leadership roles with Florida PTA, The Broward ​County Council of PTAs and PTSAs, and the Gran United Community PTA - District 5. Chris is an active ​and vocal member of Broward County Public Schools’ District Advisory Committee and Facilities Task For​ce​, as well as the City of Hollywood’s Educational Advisory Committee, advancing education for all.

Educational Leadership

Two decades of service to ​students in the classroom, ​in the assistant principal ​and principal seats, and ​even as a district-level ​administrator, resulting in ​increased positive student ​outcomes, as well as ​membership on official ​BCPS committees ​(Facilities Task Force and ​District Advisory Council).

Community Involvement

Active service to the ​community as an athletic ​coach, volunteer, and ​champion of the ​community, connecting ​residents to valuable ​resources, and helping ​supporting organizations ​raise crucial funds to ​make an impact in our ​very own neighborhoods.

Advocacy Leadership

Proven track record as a ​leader in the Broward ​County Council PTA/PTSA , ​Florida PTA, and child ​advocate, personally ​urging school board ​members and lawmakers ​to champion policies and ​laws that promote the ​well-being, equity, and ​academic success of ​EVERY child.
